it's been a while since the spartan has posted.

nevertheless the battles rages and victory is sure.

one of the missions mosaic miami has had since it's inception or should i say conception and birth is to take the city of miami.what do you mean by that you say? well i mean establishing a new ethos ( movement within the culture) within the collective expression of the city.a city that is known by withcraft, licentious behavior, drug abuse, spiritual poverty and all that comes with it.

and by the grace and power of God, to touch off a chain reaction, a transforming revolution of the human spirit made alive thru christ.all who seek this path fall into a tale, an epic of light and darkness.where shadows dwell and dragons lay.

one of the things that was not in the initial strategic plan was the amount of direct spiritual warfare  we would encounter, and i mean direct.

our most recent encounter involves a woman whose father was a grand wizard in the kkk, her mother an practiceing satanist, she came to christ in one of the most dramatic ways i have ever seen.through weeping sobs and cries for forgivness she surrendered fully to christ.she also manifested a demon who called itself lucifer, and told us there were seven of his kind within her.(because the spirits often take on the name of the object or god worshipped, this one identifed itself by the direct satanic worship her family was involved in)she had been heavily medicated for years because of the static she says within her mind and the voices she would hear.she was a drug addict who had been to every treatment center in the city, and had been in and out of jail for years.the spirit acknowledged all rights to her had been broken, we brought the seven together as one by prayer and direct command, and cast the spirits to their rightful place, the pit.i don't beleive it you say, my brothers and sisters we must embody the kingdom and by prayer and initiative quest forward and engage the enemy.there have been several encounters such as this in the last six months.why you might ask?we pray that God would give us the city, and in order to take the city you must confront the powers that be.we have had a young man whose family pracited santaria freed from a  demon, a 19 year old girl, the demon called itself a breha' ( witch) delivered. an 11 year old boy named juan whose family practiced santaria blood rites on him, when the spirit manifested it knocked a 200 pound man to the floor.the boy cried alot and kept telling us he was seeing dead people.he sees dead people no more.he cried and was so greatful when he was freed.

we are not witch hunting, i believe God draws those to us who desire to be free, he entrusts us and honors us, to participate in the victory he has won.It is an amazing thing to me what happens when the church goes on the offensive. nowhere do i read retreat, or hold on, as part of the churches mission.we are to go, and set free the captives, set at liberty those who are oppressed, preach and proclaim the good news to the spiritually poor and declare the acceptable year of the Lord. to give beauty for ashes, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness and to comfort those who mourn.all of this requires action and prayer.

oh, and by the way we have currently a 20 year old who has practiced voodoo, and is convinced he has spirits, an 32 year old practiceing satanist named mb (please pray for him) who also claims he has spirits, which after interviewing him i do not doubt. a 46 year old woman who has worshipped more gods than i have fingers.lived in japan, and india had a guru for 8 years, and sees her dead cat walking in her apartment.and another 17 year old whose mother practiced blood rites on him when he was a child, and can't calm the "madness within his mind" as he calls it, no matter what he has tried.

the way we have met all of these people is nothing short of divine providence.

1 John 3:8
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
NKJV

Ps 149:5-95 Let the saints be joyful in glory;
Let them sing aloud on their beds.
6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth,
And a two-edged sword in their hand,
7 To execute vengeance on the nations,
And punishments on the peoples;
8 To bind their kings with chains,
And their nobles with fetters of iron;
9 To execute on them the written judgment--
This honor have all His saints.
NKJV

we are to execute upon the demonic powers that be the judgement that has been won and is written.i intend to interrogate the next demon we get, and find out the spirits name that is authority over miami, and what his right to the city is.by prayer we intend to assail, and prevail.you've lost your mind sutherland, you say.maybe so, but our desire to see the glory of the Lord in our land surpasses all.Joab when he took the city of jerusalem had to crawl through the sewers to gain access to the stronghold.

Jer 1:9-10

"Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.

10 See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms,
To root out and to pull down,
To destroy and to throw down,
To build and to plant."
NKJV
2 Cor 10:3-4
4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
NKJV

may we not fear, may we not be blind.we are the ones trapped in the matrix.the real world is the one we do not see.

1 Peter 2:4-5

5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

NKJV

I have a formal background in business and building construction. One of my early instructors was a stone mason. This man was a master of his craft. He could choose stones that looked ordinary. One would look grey the other pink, he would set them together in such a way that their colors would become brilliant simply by knowing which stone to place beside the other.

On one particular job we were setting a stone facing on an outside stairwell. I watched and assisted as he meticulously put the stones in a pile near the work area, the stones were of all sizes and colors. He cut each stone to fit where he wanted it to go, until he had created a mosaic of ordinary stones drawn from a nearby field.

I have always drawn from this metaphor an image of  the Messiah’s work in His church. He is the master mason building and assembling living stones.

So often we fear being set with a stone of another color or size, but this is the very thing that will bring out brilliance from our lives. It is our differences of skill, color, background, and catalytic gifts, united in Christ that add brilliance to the church, and when used to serve each other and those surrounding our lives creates seismic impact in the world in which we live.

Too often we fear the cutting that is necessary from the mason in order to for us to become useful. Perhaps it is a habit or a relationship, maybe it is our character that is flawed and must be shaped. Michealangelo  when asked how he receives inspiration for the sculptures he created responded. “I  choose the stone by it’s shape and texture and I free the image that lies within the stone.”

Fear not the cutting of the master, for He desires to free the image that lies within the stone. The changes may seem painful at the moment but are vital to our destiny.

Rom 8:18

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

NKJV

2 Cor 4:17-18

7 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

NKJV

Is there any area of cutting that God desires in your life?

Are you willing to yield?

We have a saying in our community of faith that goes like this: nobody does business with God and breaks even.

It is a staggering concept to realize even our most minimal efforts for Christ, will be rewarded.A cup of cold water, receiving a prophet in His name, receiving a child in His name.It is also a staggering concept to realize that each one of us in Christ is called to make a difference in this world, for His glory and not our own.

We have been committed the ministry of reconciliation, called to woo men women, young and old unto Him.The mosaic communities say it this way, "Mission is why the church exists".

It is important to note that our destinies are linked inseparably to Christs calling. To the extent that we yeild to His purposes. His life flows.A life that is self serving, self gratifying, and self glorifying is an empty existence indeed.

If we desire to save our lives we will lose them,But if we lose them for His sake we will find them. The deepest quest of every human on the planet is the quest for life.Money, career, sex, addictions, sports teams, all are a desire to fill the hunger for life within.Isn't it ironic, that the kingdom is so near us, that life is literally breathing in our faces, but we must die to ourselves to receive it.

Where do you find great dispair or frustration with yourself?

what or who do you find yourself living for, and why?

What are you going to do about it?

Faith, the confidence of things hoped for and the proof of what is unseen.Hudson Taylor a potent man of faith, who died in 1905, and founded the inland china mission, of which the underground church in china today owes a debt of thanks because they are the fruit of the seeds he helped to sow.

Hudson trained for his missionary life at an early age by asking no man for any material thing. He laid all of his needs before the Lord in prayer.knowing that Gods resources would be sufficient for all things. It has been said that if we want see God, find a promise of scripture and wait for Him there.

2 Peter 1:3-4 3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

It is thru the promises of God that we partake of His divine nature. What we have to realize is that Gods favor and blessing does not come because we are significant in and of ourselves. His favor and blessing comes when at some point we begin to believe Him for something significant. His promises contain delivering power, restorative power, creative power.what would happen if we began to believe God for the deliverence of our city, the creative power to engage the culture so that humanity might be restored to Him?The question is not what have you done for me lately God?,but what are you believing Him for?

Is your will His will?Aw tozer said "The world has yet to see the man/woman who will take God at His word and believe Him for the impossible".Jesus said "DO not fear little flock, it is your Fathers good pleasure,to give you the kingdom".( luke 12:32).Faith is the great equalizer, God is no respector of persons.Jabez was more honorable for one reason, he called on God.

  • what are the echoes of the divine within your heart?
  • what are you willing to believe God for, even if it seems impossible?

you may question, are the promises of scripture really for me?

2 Cor 1:20-21
20 For all the promises of God in Him (Jesus) are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.
NKJV

you decide, I dare you.

God has called us to live, not just exist.yet why is this the exception and not the norm when it comes to the believer?could it be that the mundane drowns us, or have we truly embraced the lie that we are insignificant.never has this thought crossed the heart of our Messiah.

the United states marine corp, empowers the lowliest private to make executive decisions in combat without fear of repremand.Jesus calls us empowers and comissions us to make a difference in his Name.so why is comfort so much greater than calling?

The thing we fail to realize is that Jesus never minds being at the center point of public debate, and He gives us permission to stir things up and put Him there. My son and i were at a swimming pool a few years ago, he was 3.5 then.I saw him playing near a patio table, and soon realized he was irratating a group of hornets nested underneath it.i called for him to get away from it, but in true barbarian style he struck it with a stick.the entire nest began to engage him, luckily he knew when to run, and run he did, straight into the pool.

Jesus exemplified this tactic, not content with the quietness of jerusalem,He decided to strike the hornets nest by healing on the sabbath.WHat a stir it caused, the debate that followed was crucial to revealing His identity to the jewish people. it raised the question who does he think he is?Jesus loves it when men debate His identity.Who do men say I am,He asked Peter. what would happen if we did not fear striking the hornets nest within our work environments, our neighbors or our family members? not with the intenet of arguing, but with the intent of announcing the kingdom, and revealing the Messiah.to awaken men and women from the slumber of complacency, and challenging them at the point of their eternal future.we may get stung, then again they may follow us into the pool of Gods grace and love.

all that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men/women to do nothing.this my brothers and sisters is not the barbarian way.

  • where is the hornets nest you fear?
  • what do you intend to do about it?
